Equity Professional Practices Inc. is located near Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our financial and practice background has made us a one-stop brokerage firm to either sell or buy a practice.  We can assist you with all aspects of the buying and selling process.  Our skills include accounting, taxation, valuation, and other specialty areas of negotiations, real estate, and financing.

Christopher S. Whitener

Christopher S. Whitener is the Managing Director of Equity Professional Practices Inc., a firm which provides a host of practice brokerage services to a variety of professional and healthcare clients, including privately-held corporations, professional practices, partnerships, and sole proprietorships.

Mr. Whitener is a 1980 graduate of Appalachian State University with a  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and a 1977 Chemistry graduate of the University of South Florida.  Mr. Whitener has also obtained the Accreditation of Business Valuation credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  The ABV designation distinguishes those who practice in the field of practice valuation.  Mr. Whitener prepares practice valuations and provides litigation support to attorneys in this field.

In the field of business brokerage the International Business Brokerage Association (i.e., the IBBA) has conferred the Certified Business Intermediary, "CBI", designation to Mr. Whitener.

Mr. Whitener has made professional presentations for "Buying and Selling a Practice" and "Overview to Practice Valuations" to the North Carolina Society of Accountants and has authored a "Guide to Practice Valuation".  He is a charter member of the Carolinas-Virginia Business Brokers Association, a member of the International Business Brokers Association and is affiliated with the largest Business Broker Network in the United States.

As of 2006, Mr. Whitener became licensed as a real estate broker, specializing in commerical and industrial properties.
